Wolframalpha-An Idea for a Potential Product

Posted by Jason on Friday, September 18, 2009 , under , | comments (1)

In the past couple of months, a new search tool had been getting a lot of internet ink: Wolfram Alpha. Wolfram Alpha is a tool that makes its distinction by not scouring through billions and billions of pages, but rather computing the response on the fly. Meaning, if you type in an item, say “internet users,” Wolfram Alpha will compute, or piece together its response from its data banks. In contrast, Google (and any other search engine) will return existing web pages it deems best fit to the search query.

Yes! A new search paradigm. A Google-killer? Nope! Will it be as important as Google has become? Perhaps! But when the service was launched (May 2009), I believe it will become an essential in anyone’s search tool kit.

I haven't tried it extensively yet but if you spend a few hours testing it, you could easily become an expert and you can write a short reports and articles.

I'm actually surprised that there aren't more ebooks and stuff about WolframAlpha and Bing as well. It's been getting a lot of press, and if you look at their Adwords equivalent it's like going back in time several years.

For example, do a search on Google for "Forex Trading". You get 497 Adwords ads. Do the same search on Bing and you only get 5. Prices are similar, starting at a nickle a click. Almost like having a damn time machine!

So, just an idea for a potential product if you are at a lost for ideas.

Social Networking and How to Do it Right

Posted by Jason on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 , under , | comments (0)

Almost everybody is talking about Social networking. They're talking on how social networking sites will help them generate a lot of traffic, visitors and most valuable thing--SALES!

What I want to start from this today's article is by asking you a simple question "Is social networking important for business?" There generally seem to be three reactions to social networking from businesses:

A) Ban it

B) Embrace it

C) Ignore it

Sometimes businesses try a combination of the above in relation to different sites (they might ban Facebook and YouTube, embrace LinkedIn and ignore Twitter entirely) but misunderstanding their effectiveness can be perilous. So, the question is, How to Do it Right?

There's a social networking of giving your business cards to a lot of people, signing up on cocktail parties, making friends to a lot of people from Facebook, counting how many people follow you in Twitter etc. To me, these are worthless! It's worthless in the real world. It's worthless in the online world. The social networking that matters is helping people achieve their goals. By doing it reliably and repeatedly so that in the future time people may be interested helping you achieve your goals.

You can do that offline, by helping, referring and teaching people. And of course, you can do it online, by leading a group, connecting people, by giving to people access to resources that they need because in due time they'll do the same for you. Remember, you're not doing it because doing it is so beneficial.

What I really don't like in the online world is the superficial networking--making friends to everybody. You don't have to befriend everybody else, you should ask yourself this question "Why?". It doesn't count for anything. It's just a waste of time.

I Need to Make $1000 by the 30th-How Can I Do This?!!?

Posted by Jason on Sunday, September 13, 2009 , under , | comments (0)

1- Offer your article writing services on Warrior Forum for below market. But get someone to commit to buy 1000 dollar's worth. 300 articles at $3 each is $900 and there are plenty of people who'll pay for this if they can trust you to deliver good articles.

2- Walk around your house, your family and friend's house, your neighbor's house with a big bag in your hand and start stuffing it with stuff they don't want and don't need. Then sell it on eBay or Craigslist or a garage sale.
(note: anytime I need a quick few hundred dollars, i do this and have at least $500 within 6 days without fail. Been doing it for years and sounds stupid simple but it works)

3- Sell your services and skills (i.e. Webdesign, Blog set up, bookkeeping services to local businesses for below market fees. Call it an introductory fee. You can usually get $250 for a nice blog and website design using templates. Do 4 of these and you make your $1000)

4- Offer to list high ticket items for others for a commission. For example, used cars, new cars, large tractors, diamond rings etc. YOU WILL GET YOUR 1000 IN YOUR FIRST DAY provided you are willing to make some calls, and visit several stores.

Without knowing what you have and what you're good at, its hard to tell what to suggest. Also looking at your avatar, its hard to figure you out and determine if you're a young person just messing around or a serious marketer willing to make sacrifices to make money.

I hope some of these suggestions will spark some ideas and allow you to make the money you need.

make money online

The popularity of social media networks, like Facebook and Twitter, are starting to get the attention of businesses - particularly small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). They’re attracted to it, because social media is proving to be an effective channel for creating new leads and also supporting existing customers.

With all of the promise that social media offers to businesses, there’s one downside, identity theft. Many businesses are often in shock when they find out their brand is already registered on popular social networks.

Raven Internet Marketing Tools recently tackled this issue by integrating an identity theft prevention tool called KnowEm. KnowEm was created by Barry Wise and Michael Streko to help businesses take control of their brand on social networks.

So, check this great tool KnowEm.What is does it that it automatically checks availability of a give ID on 120 Popular Social Media sites.

You can use it before creating your Web 2.0 Link Building campaign.
